Accurate Nitro 100 NF Smokeless Gun Powder: Fast-Burning Shotshell & Handgun Powder

Accurate Nitro 100 NF (“New Formulation”) is a fast-burning, flattened spherical double-base powder built primarily for 12-gauge target shotshell loads, with reloaders also using it in select handgun cartridges.

Built for Target Shotshell Performance

Nitro 100 NF is one of the fastest-burning powders in the Accurate lineup — on Hodgdon’s official relative burn rate chart it ranks among the fastest powders listed, burning faster than popular fast pistol/shotshell powders like Red Dot, Clays, and Bullseye. Its flattened spherical grain structure meters smoothly and delivers the clean, consistent ignition target shooters and reloaders depend on.

Application Versatility

Nitro 100 NF has official published load data for 12-gauge target shotshell loads, and reloaders also use it in handgun cartridges such as .380 ACP, 9mm Luger, .38 Special, .45 ACP, and .45 Colt. It is not a rifle powder — always confirm the correct published load data for your specific cartridge or gauge before loading.

Load Development

Always use published, manufacturer-tested load data when developing loads with Nitro 100 NF. Start at the published minimum charge and work up in small increments, weigh every charge on a calibrated scale, and chronograph each string to track velocity consistency. Keep primer brand, hull or brass lot, and wad or bullet lot constant during development, watch for pressure signs, and document charge weight, components, and chronograph results so successful loads can be reproduced.
